Adam Learns to Print!

Since Adam helped me out so much, I thought I would help him out with a card for his cousin's birthday.

Using a polyester litho plate, or pronto plate, he hand drew his text and image (backward)


wet the plate, then rolled on the ink,



and ran it through the press.

I am finally back at Spudnik to begin printing for my senior show!

Meredith went with me to assist, and I am very pleased with how our project turned out.




They will be available in my Etsy shop as soon as I figure out a good way to ship them.

Keep Calm

Many of you have probably seen various designs of a similar nature floating around. Here is my take on the original.

First Print

To kick off my project I created a poster:








While I love my original design, I ought to have used registration marks or something, because it came out very rough. I decided not to do the black layer on all of them because of the bad registration. Instead I scanned in the nearly finished print, and have adjusted the black layer digitally to fit it. It has 6 layers: Blue, Yellow, White, Red, Silver, and Black. That's a lot of printing!
